Investments for efficient water management on farms

The EIC Accelerator program offers startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) a unique opportunity to develop groundbreaking technologies and innovations. Through this initiative, part of the “Horizon Europe” program, the European Innovation Council provides combined funding, including grants and equity investments.
What does EIC Accelerator offer?
- Grant: up to 2.5 million euros for development activities of high-potential projects (TRL 5-8).
- Investments: up to 15 million euros for market implementation and scaling of innovations (TRL 9).
- Blended finance: Combination of grant and equity participation for transition from the development phase to commercialisation.
Types of application You can choose between two types of procedures:
- EIC Accelerator Open: Open to all innovations, regardless of topic or technological area.
- EIC Accelerator Challenges: Focused on specific technological challenges defined by the European Innovation Council.
Who can apply?
The program is aimed at startups, SMEs, and spin-out companies operating in EU member states or associated countries. Main requirements for applicants:
- Registered in a European Union country or associated with the “Horizon Europe” program.
- Innovative project with high market potential.
Application process for EIC Accelerator
- Short proposal:
- 5-page form with key information about the innovation and scaling potential
- 10-slide presentation visually presenting the project
- 3-minute video in which the team presents their motivation
- Full proposal:
- Detailed business plan
- Financial forecasts
- Commercialization strategy
- Intellectual property plan
- Live interview:
- 30-minute presentation before an expert EIC jury
- Question and answer session

The program accepts full application proposals on the following dates:
- March 13, 2024
- October 3, 2024
